Because once is never enough. Because finding clothing that fits perfectly is a rarity. Because you never know when you are going to need to be dapper. Really, though, the reason this article exists is to tell you that 8/Omakase, featured here back in July, is now called Dapper in Deed.
Part of this change surely has to do with the fact that 8/Omakase always took some explaining to those who haven’t enjoyed the dining experience of a meal consisting of dishes selected by the chef. Dapper in Deed, though less clever, is a name that really hones in on the service it provides. As with 8/Omakase, Dapper in Deed will deliver two packages (one every 45 days, or so) of custom-made, made-to-measure clothing right to your door for $300. Each package will include two signature pieces and a little something extra as a sartorial surprise.
Recently, BFF got ahold of the latest release from Dapper in Deed (it should be noted that this delivery came in the middle of the transition from 8/O to DI & the items feature the 8/O tags), and much like the first delivery, it is a doozy. This article is all about transition, and the latest delivery from Dapper in Deed is in keeping with this theme. The clothing delivered slips perfectly into the seasonal hinterland between Summer and Fall.
The Shirt
A micro-floral print in various shades of blue pops starkly on the crisp white of this handsome shirt. The cutaway collar is lined in white and features a soft pink grosgrain ribbon locker loop and seam tape. The buttonholes of standard placket are finished with navy blue stitching which contrasts nicely with the white pearlescent buttons. As should be expected, this shirt fits perfectly. From just a handful of measurements, the Dapper in Deed algorithm extrapolates a set of dimensions that makes it possible to produce a shirt that fits exactly as a shirt should. Shoulders, armholes, biceps, shirt length, all of it, just right and just for you.
The Pants
At first glance, the latest pant looks to be a fairly standard soft grey plaid. Closer inspection reveals that, yet again, Dapper in Deed insists on delivering clothing that is a cut above. The grey plaid is enlivened with a hint of blue which broadens the visual appeal of the pant and makes it easy to mix and match with a wide variety of colors. On the inside, the waistband is lined with a grippy and handsome jacquard ribbon to help keep your shirt tucked in and your pants in place. These pants land just above the hips, and as is the case with the shirt, fit exquisitely in every way.
The Extra
The latest delivery included a nice pair of socks in blue and red with macro-heathered stripes. The socks are soft and comfy and help round out the outfit very nicely. The little extra on top of the outstanding ensemble shows that Dapper in Deed is paying close attention to all the details.
As impressive as the first delivery was, delivery number two meets or exceeds it in every way. Everything is beautifully tailored, executed, and finished. Best of all, Dapper in Deed delivers all of this quality and style at a about half of what it would cost at a high end department store. For more information about Dapper in Deed, click here.
